The boater belongs to the Venetian gondoliers and to the rowing clubs of the 1800s. Flat crown, straight brim, nothing decorative about it. A working hat that somehow became the most elegant thing you could wear in summer.
This one is the Lido: beach cabins, bicycles, the light off the Adriatic. Venice, but the side of it where people go to enjoy themselves.
